Every year at Copper Beech Glamping, we take part in No Mow May, and this year is no different. It’s a simple change, but one that plays an important role in supporting the wildlife and biodiversity around the glampsite.
Throughout May, we allow all areas of grass to grow naturally rather than mowing them. While it may look a little wilder, these longer grasses and wildflowers create important habitats for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators that are essential to the countryside ecosystem. Even small patches of unmown grass can provide food, shelter and space for nature to thrive.
Being surrounded by nature is a huge part of the Copper Beech experience, and caring for the environment around us has always been something we feel strongly about. From our sustainability initiatives to our recent Gold Green Tourism award, we’re always looking for ways to make thoughtful choices that positively impact the land we call home.
One of the things we love most about No Mow May is seeing the site change with the season. The grasses soften, wildflowers begin to appear and the whole site feels a little more natural and alive. Guests staying with us during this time can enjoy peaceful walks surrounded by birdsong, buzzing pollinators, and all the little signs that spring is in full swing.
For us, No Mow May is a reminder that sometimes slowing down and allowing nature to take the lead can make a real difference. It’s a small step, but one we’re proud to continue every year here at Copper Beech Glamping.
